It's Tutorial Tuesday time once again. Today's tutorial is for making a three panel card using Labels Eighteen. This technique produces a three panel card that is in one continuous piece. This technique could also be used to make a fold out feature on a scrapbook page.
Products Used:
Bazzill Basics Paper:
1-107E Quartz
1-196E Juneberry
1-105E Petalsoft
10-1001E White
5-559D Lily Pad
Spellbinders:
S4-310 Labels Eighteen
S5-041 Floral Doily Motifs
S4-158 Sunflower Set Two
JustRite Stamps:
JB09745 Hope 2" Square Borders & Centres
Other Materials Used:
Brilliance Ink Pad - Pearlescent Crimson
Ancient page Ink Pad - Coral Red
Inking Brush
Single Pearl
Instructions:
Step One:
Fold and crease one end of a piece of cardstock, making sure the area between the edge of the paper and the fold is slightly larger than your chosen die.
Step Two:
Place the die on the paper so that the cutting edge of the die is slightly outside the fold. Secure with tape
Step Three:
Place the paper and die onto the base cutting plate so the non folded side is just hanging over the edge of the base plate.
Place the top cutting plate on top and run through your die cutting machine.
Cut away excess paper. This is how it will look once it is cut.
Step Four:
Unfold so that it looks like this:
Step Five:
Carefully fold and crease the cardstock so that tghe folded edge is just inside the cutting line. You shouldn't need to reposition the die at this stage.
Step Six:
Place the paper and die onto the base cutting plate so the non folded side is just hanging over the edge of the base plate. See first photo below.
Fold the paper closed as in the second photo
Place the top cutting plate on top and run through your die cutting machine
Open up the folded side and you should now have something that looks like this. (Excess paper has been trimmed away.)
Step Seven:
Remove your die and carefully reposition over one end. (This needs to be an exact fit.)
Place the top cutting pad on this and run through the cutting machine.
Remove the die and repeat on the other side.
You should now have a three panel card to decorate as you like.
The flower on the front of my card is made using Floral Doily Motifs. You can find the tutorial to make this here.
