7-727E Bahama

Spellbinders:

S5-183 Gold Elements
S5-158 Timeless Rectangle

Other Materials Used:

Satin ribbon

Step 1

Trim a piece of white Bazzill to 29x14.5cm, score and fold to make a card base.  Trim another piece of white cardstock to 14.5cm square as the base for the fancy pocket.

Step 2

Trim three piecess of Bahama Bazzill to measure 10.5cm square.  Line the Gold rectangle element up in the corner and cut.  Repeat with the remaining two squares.

Step 3

Trim the excess cardstock from each of the triangle as pictured and fold under what remains.

Step 4

Adhere the first triangle to the square of white Bazzill then repeat with the remaining two. You may need to trim a little off the folded edge if it shows at the front of the square.

Step 5

Die-cut and emboss the fancy element from white Bazzill then rub the raised surface with the inkpad.

Step 6

With all three triangles folded into place adhere the inked element to the centre then wrap a piece of  ribbon around.  Adhere to the card base and add a ribbon bow and embellishment.

Step 7

Die-cut a Timeless Rectangle and layer some white Bazzill onto it to stamp a greeting and slip into the pocket.

I was after a soft, yet geometic look for this layout, so I reached for my Matting Basics dies. They are meant to be used as card fronts, but I thought the die cuts were brilliant for tiles. Each tile has been worked, whether it's to have a photo mounted on it, embossed, stamped or made with patterned paper. I added scraps of white cotton thread and a few sequins as embellishments, and then right at the bottom I used some BLINGabilities coloured with a Copic marker for some extra sparkle.

Once in a while, a card calls for a bit of sparkle only glitter can provide. Here's how I put this card together:

Bazzill Basics Cardstock:

10-1001E White
7-799E Sea Salt

Spellbinders:

S2-014 Medallion One

Other Materials Used:

Ribbon
StampIt Thank you stamp
Superfine glitter

Step 1
Make a white card base and cut a blue card front to fit.

Step 2
Cut an aperture in the blue card front using the border die from the Medallion One set, and then cut a medallion out of it.

Step 3
Stick the medallion to a scrap of Jac paper.

Step 4
Place the medallion and Jac paper into position on the card front. The exposed Jac paper will adhere to the back of the card front.

Step 5
Sprinkle a generous amount of glitter onto the medallion. It will stick to the exposed Jac paper through the pattern of the medallion. Tap of the excess glitter.

Assemble the rest of the card by adding ribbon , a bow and a stamped sentiment.

I made this photo frame for someone who loves Paris, but the Eiffel Tower image could easily be replaced with a photo of a loved one or meaningful quote. The frame itself is very light weight - made from corrugated cardboard then painted and the front piece has been embossed with brick pattern. The acetate has also been embossed with the Grateful Lattice die to make it look like lead light.
