Instructions:

Choose a set of spellbinder dies that will give you a nice sized shape to work with. I used 3 different sizes ranging from the largest, second largest down to the third largest.

Step One:

Fold your piece of cardstock in half. Place your die under your folded cardstock with the folded edge to the top. Place your die so the top part is out from under your cardstock as shown in diagram, this ensures your 2 pieces will remain joined.

Step Two:

Once you have cut the main card and embossed. Cut just one shape from your die the same size with 1 piece of unfolded cardstock. Once again emboss.

Step Three:

Using your next 2 sized dies and your choice of colours cut 2 of each size one being for the top and one for the bottom and emboss.

Step Four:

Now go back to the first piece we cut and choose which side you want to be your right side whether it be embossed or de-bossed and fold the top half in half towards you. When positioned up this will become your easel to position the top of your card.

Step Five:

Add adhesive tape or glue to the half you have folded down and adhere your 1st single shape you cut to this then layer the shapes you cut alternatively.

Step Eight:

 Embellish to your hearts desire.

TIP: I do my stamping before I adhere the final die cut to the card and embellish once it is altogether.

"I looked around for something to build a little fairy house with, and came up with this tiny little tin. Mine had tomato paste in it, but any tin would do (eg baby food). The roof was made by cutting a slit in a circle, then overlapping one side over the other. I embossed it with one of the new 3D M-Bossabilities folders - I'm amazed at the detail! The door is a Labels Twenty Eight die cut with a brad for the door knob and embossed to look like woodgrain."

"Playing around with acryclic paints, and I came up with this faux copper effect. It turns out so realistic, people will have trouble believing that it's just paint and cardstock!"

Products Used:

Bazzill Basics Cardstock:

9-960D Kraft
7-7116E Simon
10-1037E Blackbird

Spellbinders:

E3D-003 Delightful Daisies

JustRite Stamps:

CR-03885 Grand Sentiments

Other Materials Used:

Blue and Copper acrylic paint
Tsukineko Java Walnut Stain
Black German Glass Glitter

Step 1

Emboss two pieces of cardstock using the new 3D M-Bossabilities Delightful Daisies folder. Fussy cut two daisies, one butterfly and the banner from one piece.

Step 2

Paint all of the pieces with the blue acrylic paint, covering all of the kraft cardstock.

Step 3

Once dry, paint a very light coat of copper paint. This can be left streaky to show some of the blue paint underneath. While it's still wet, wipe over it with a damp paper towel. Allow to dry.

Step 4

Spray lightly with the Walnut ink, and wipe all over the embossed pieces with a dry paper towel. Flick some water droplets onto the piece and watch the water clear spots in the walnut ink layer. (Pic 3 below): See the difference the Walnut Ink has made to the paint finish. It's like a patina.

Step 5

Stamp the sentiment onto the banner. Assemble the card, adding some black German glass glitter to the flower centres.
