I love the look and feel of embossed fabric. Here's how I did it in a few
simple steps:
Products Used:
Bazzill Basics Cardstock:
8-816C Walnut Cream
Spellbinders:
ES-016 Cabbage Roses
S5-191 Decorative Labels Twenty Eight
S5-127 Labels Twenty Eight
Other Materials Used:
Prima patterned paper
Calico fabric
Distress Inks - Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade
Darkroom Door Simple Sayings stamp
Step 1
Apply a thin layer of PVA glue to a scrap of cardstock that's slightly
larger than what you need. I used the edge of a plastic credit card to
ensure the entire piece was covered.
Step 2
Place the fabric onto the glue and smooth it out. Use a brayer if you have
one to ensure all of the fabric is stuck down.
Step 3
Give the glue a few minutes to completely dry, and then emboss the fabric
and cardstock.
Step 4
Apply colour to the embossing using various colours of Distress Ink and a
sponge. Adhere the piece to the front of a card and finish it off with a
stamped sentiment on a couple of die cuts.

This was a great snapshot of my girls - hugging (and not fighting!), and
they both happened to close their eyes at the same time.
I cut the photo out with a curved matting basics die, and this made matting
it a breeze.
I created the background for this layout with Gelatos and little spatters of
Glimmermist. I left the long threads in place after machine stitching here
and there.
The journaling was done with a lead pencil.

Playing with the d'lites blooms again. I am loving these. For the border for the ribbon paper strip, I used the number 2 5x7 Detailed Scallops die. I die cut a series of them, and then adhered the paper strip which was cut to fit inside the border. A very easy way to make a border strip, and it matches the photo matt with the same design in a smaller size.

Here is a fun idea from Teresa for some of your holiday photos.
I created interest on my page by using nested circle dies to create a
concentric focus. By using foam mounting tape, I could tuck the photo into
one of the layers, and mimic the layering that is present in the photo
itself.
I added some colour to the stark white by stamping little stars, flicking
navy Distress Stain and then strategically placing blobs of gesso here and
there. These blobs dried raised, adding extra dimension.
